The Reclaim Your Future project

Inception of the Project with FIDA and Ikotun Health Centre (15th December 2022)*

The Reclaim Your Future project was formally launched on the 15th of December 2022, with key representatives from FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers) and the Ikotun Health Centre marking the event. This collaborative effort was designed to tackle the pressing challenges facing women in the Ikotun/Igando region, including domestic violence, economic instability, and limited access to healthcare services like family planning.

FIDA played an instrumental role by providing legal assistance to women facing domestic violence, while the Ikotun Health Centre took the lead on health interventions, particularly in family planning. The Family Support Unit of the Ikotun Police was also a critical partner in ensuring that women had access to justice and protection. The synergy between these organizations created a holistic support system where women could access legal aid, health services, and financial empowerment all under one umbrella.

The project’s launch underscored a commitment to empowering vulnerable women by offering them a comprehensive safety net, making this a community-led effort to reclaim dignity, security, and future prosperity
