An Advocacy visit to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State.

As part of our ongoing efforts to engage key stakeholders in protecting vulnerable populations, Caprights Vp in collaboration with Street Project Foundation conducted an advocacy visit to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State. This visit, aligned with the “Protect Child Domestic Workers from Maltreatment Program” (PCDW), sought to enlist CAN’s influential platform to advocate for stronger protections for child domestic workers. During the meeting,we emphasized the critical role of faith-based organizations in combating child exploitation.

The delegation was warmly received by His Lordship, Bishop Dr. Stephen Tunde Victor Adegbite, the Chairman of CAN Lagos State, and Apostle Ajose, Special Advisor on General Duties. The CAN leadership responded positively, reaffirming their commitment to supporting initiatives that safeguard the rights of vulnerable children.

CAN, which has already marked every Thursday as the “Day Against Violence on Children,” expressed readiness to deepen collaboration with the PCDW program, enhancing their ongoing efforts to work with organizations focused on justice and child welfare. This visit marked a pivotal moment in strengthening the collaboration between religious leaders and civil society in the fight against child domestic worker exploitation in Lagos.
