On 8th August 2024, the Centre for the Advancement and the Protection of the Rights of Vulnerable People (CAPRIGHTS-VP) team visited the Women Rights and Health Project

(WRAHP) Nigeria / the Ireti Resource Center for an advocacy meeting. Mrs. Bose Ironsi, Executive Director, and Ayomide, Communication Officer, warmly received the team, expressing appreciation for CAPRIGHTS-VP’s interest in partnership. During the meeting, Mrs. Ironsi highlighted the alignment between WRAHP’s mission and CAPRIGHTS-VP’s goals, particularly in promoting women’s and children’s rights and addressing domestic violence.

The discussion focused on collaborative strategies to amplify advocacy efforts through joint initiatives such as awareness campaigns, community outreach programs, and training sessions to empower women and promote gender equality. Additionally, they discussed the development of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials and the provision of counselling services to further support women and children in need.The teams also discussed the critical need for capacity building, planning workshops, and training necessary to tackle gender-based issues effectively.

In conclusion, the CAPRIGHTS-VP team expressed their commitment to contributing effectively to the partnership, which was warmly received by WRAHP. The meeting marked a positive step towards collaboration, with both organizations eager to work together toward shared objectives in promoting women’s rights and gender equality. The enthusiasm from both sides sets a strong foundation for impactful joint efforts moving forward.
