first day of the “Protect the Child Domestic Workers from Maltreatment” workshop in Lagos, Nigeria, organized by The Freedom Fund
We recently concluded a highly impactful first day of the “Protect the Child Domestic Workers from Maltreatment” workshop in Lagos, Nigeria, organized by The Freedom Fund with funding support from The US Department of State. This event brought together representatives from Caprights Vp , Street Project Foundation , Devatop Centre for Africa Development , and government ministries, alongside The Freedom Fund Deepika and Elizabeth. Together, we engaged in profound discussions on critical topics such as Nigerian laws and effective strategies for safeguarding vulnerable child domestic workers.
Throughout the workshop, there was a strong emphasis on exchanging knowledge and collaboratively developing practical solutions to enhance child protection measures. Guided by Deepika, Elizabeth, Program Advisory Group (PAG), and Chika (the program advisor in Nigeria), day one laid a solid foundation for our collective mission. United, in our dedication, we are committed to translating these insights into tangible actions that will contribute to creating a safer environment for child domestic workers across Nigeria.
